UniWebView UniWebView

UniWebView Show web content in your Unity game with three lines of code.

UniWebView puts the system web view of iOS and Android inside your game. Use it for sign-in, event pages, videos and in-game stores. Your build does not need a second browser engine.

The code for this page:

News.cs C#
var web = gameObject.AddComponent<UniWebView>();
web.Load("https://example.com/news");
web.Show();

What teams build with it.

Each screen below is a normal web page. UniWebView shows it on top of the game.

  • Sign-in

    Sign in with Google, Facebook, Discord or X.

    Built-in OAuth flows open the provider page and return the token to C#. You do not write redirect handling yourself.

    Guide ↗
  • In-game store

    Change items and prices on your server.

    Build the store page with HTML and CSS. When the player buys, the page sends a message to Unity, and Unity replies.

    Guide ↗
  • Video

    Play trailers and cutscenes.

    HTML5 video, inline or full screen, with autoplay. Use YouTube, Vimeo or your own CDN.

    Guide ↗
  • System browser

    Open pages that need the system browser.

    For WebRTC, saved logins and autofill, open the page in SFSafariViewController on iOS or Custom Tabs on Android.

    Guide ↗

Built on the system web view.

UniWebView calls WKWebView on iOS and WebView on Android directly. One C# API works on both platforms, and your game gets the same engine, cookies and network stack as the system browser.

  • Native and small

    No extra browser engine in your build. Load remote URLs, or local HTML files from StreamingAssets for offline content.

  • C# and JavaScript talk both ways

    The page sends messages with data to Unity. Unity runs JavaScript in the page and gets the result back.

  • Fits your UI, or your 3D scene

    Position the view with a RectTransform, make it transparent over the game, or render it to a texture on a mesh.

  • Sign-in flows included

    Ready-made OAuth 2.0 flows for common providers, plus a flow you can point at your own server.

  • Preview in the Editor

    See the web view in the Unity Editor on macOS while you develop, without a build to a device each time.

  • Maintained since 2013

    Updated for each new Unity, iOS and Android release, by the same developer who wrote it.
